Ozzy Osbourne\u2019s all-star farewell concert<\/a> on Saturday, dubbed Back to the Beginning, featured Metallica and Guns N\u2019 Roses, who paid tribute to Osbourne and the original Black Sabbath at what was billed as their final show in Birmingham, England at Villa Park.<\/p>\n Metallica was the penultimate band to perform before the Osbourne\/Black Sabbath finale performances. Metallica kicked off their set by covering Black Sabbath\u2019s \u201cHole in the Sky\u201d from 1975\u2019s Sabotage and they also covered \u201cJohnny Blade\u201d from 1978\u2019s Never Say Die!, as fan footage captured.<\/p>\n More from Rolling Stone<\/strong><\/p>\n Guns N\u2019 Roses performed four Black Sabbath renditions, including opening with Technical Ecstasy\u2019s \u201cIt\u2019s Alright\u201d before launching into \u201cNever Say Die.\u201d<\/p>\n Guns N\u2019 Roses also performed \u201cJunior\u2019s Eyes\u201d from Never Say Die! along with the title track to 1973\u2019s Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.<\/p>\n The charity gig featuring the four original Black Sabbath members \u2014 Osbourne, guitarist\u00a0Tony Iommi<\/a>, bassist\u00a0Geezer Butler<\/a>,\u00a0and\u00a0drummer\u00a0Bill Ward<\/a> \u2014 also included performances from Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Alice in Chains, and more, with Tom Morello serving as the musical director. The event featured all-star jams that included Aerosmith\u2019s Steven Tyler, Smashing Pumpkins\u2019 Billy Corgan, Morello, Sammy Hagar, and more, including a team-up for a rendition of Led Zeppelin\u2019s \u201cWhole Lotta Love.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s my time to go back to the beginning \u2026 time for me to give back to the place where I was born,\u201d Osbourne, who in recent years has been battling Parkinson\u2019s disease and underwent several spinal surgeries, said\u00a0of his \u201cfinal\u201d concert in a statement from February. \u201cHow blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love. Birmingham is the true home of metal.
