SAN ANTONIO – Police are investigating a \u2018road rage\u2019 incident on the city’s Near Northeast Side early Saturday morning that escalated into a vehicle crash and alleged gunfire, according to police.<\/p>\n
The incident occurred around 5:15 a.m. Saturday in the 1500 block of N. New Braunfels Avenue. Officers were dispatched to a shooting in progress and arrived to find two wrecked vehicles: a black BMW and a grey Ford F-150 pickup truck.<\/p>\n
The complainant, an 18-year-old man driving the BMW, told officers that the suspect, a 23-year-old man driving the F-150, was “road raging” and intentionally tried to crash into the BMW. The suspect’s truck reportedly “clipped the front” of the BMW, causing it to wreck. The complainant then reported hearing what sounded like gunshots being fired and fled the scene.<\/p>\n
Witnesses at the location stated they saw the suspect exit the grey truck and run in the direction the complainant had fled, allegedly carrying a long gun.<\/p>\n
The suspect was quickly detained by officers. While he was found to be in possession of a gun light, but he did not have a firearm on him.<\/p>\n
Further investigation revealed that the grey Ford F-150 the suspect was driving was stolen.<\/p>\n
