Former NBA player Ben McLemore was found guilty on Thursday, July 3 of raping a woman.<\/p>\n
The 32-year-old was found guilty on three counts: first-degree rape, first-degree unlawful sexual penetration and second-degree sexual abuse, according to a Clackamas County (Oregon)\u00a0press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n After an 11-day trial, the jury spent about 10 hours in deliberation. McLemore\u2019s sentencing is scheduled for Wednesday, July 9 at 9:30 a.m. local time.<\/p>\n The charges stemmed from a party in October 2021<\/a> at a Lake Oswego, Oregon, home owned by Robert Covington<\/a>, a teammate of McLemore when both played for the Portland Trail Blazers<\/a>.<\/p>\n The woman who accused McLemore said she was incapacitated after a night of heavy drinking during the party, and was unable to give consent for the sexual encounter.<\/p>\n Who is Ben McLemore?<\/p>\n McLemore played at the University of Kansas before becoming a first-round pick (seventh overall) in the 2013 NBA Draft<\/a> by the Sacramento Kings<\/a>.
