A 42-year-old who was killed in Red Bird on Monday<\/a> was fatally shot twice by an employee at his job, according to court records.<\/p>\n

Billy Brightman, 42, was working as the manager of Raw Wheels and Tires in the 4000 block of West Camp Wisdom Road when the shooting occurred around 1 p.m., according to the suspect\u2019s arrest-warrant affidavit.<\/p>\n

Brightman was working at the front counter when 21-year-old Marlon Lawrence, a tire technician at the shop, approached him, according to court records. Lawrence is accused of then shooting Brightman in the back and again in the face, court records said.<\/p>\n

Another employee at the shop called 911 after hearing the gunshots.<\/p>\n

Fire crews responded to the shop, where Brightman died.<\/p>\n

Detectives said in the affidavit that video from inside the shop showed Lawrence shooting Brightman. During an interview, detectives said Lawrence admitted to shooting Brightman, then placing the handgun in a vehicle parked at the shop.<\/p>\n

Lawrence faces a murder charge and, as of Thursday, is being held at the Dallas County jail.<\/p>\n
