{"id":429944,"date":"2025-12-07T01:06:28","date_gmt":"2025-12-07T01:06:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/429944\/"},"modified":"2025-12-07T01:06:28","modified_gmt":"2025-12-07T01:06:28","slug":"this-week-we-looked-back-at-the-highlights-of-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/429944\/","title":{"rendered":"This week we looked back at the highlights of 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"852\" height=\"479\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/hero-big-suzhou-museum-of-contemporary-art-china-architecture_dezeen_1704_col_1-1-852x479.jpg\" class=\"attachment-article_large_image size-article_large_image nolazy\" alt=\"Suzhou Museum of Contemporary Art\" decoding=\"async\"  data-pin-nopin=\"true\"\/>\t\t    <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/this-week-on-dezeen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">This week on Dezeen<\/a>, we started our review of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/tag\/2025-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">top stories and projects we published in 2025<\/a>, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/12\/04\/best-architecture-2025\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">best architecture<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/12\/03\/top-home-interiors-2025-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">best interiors<\/a> of the year.<\/p>\n<p>We also rounded up the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/12\/02\/rebrands-logo-2025\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">top rebrands of 2025<\/a> \u2013 from restaurant Cracker Barrel&#8217;s failed rebrand to the barely noticeable tweaks to retailers Amazon and Walmart, along with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/12\/05\/top-museums-galleries-2025\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">top museums and galleries<\/a> of the year.<\/p>\n<p>The 2025 review started with a look at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/12\/01\/top-houses-2025\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">top houses of 2025<\/a>, which included a brutalist-castle-like home and a glass-brick fronted house.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/12\/02\/foster-partners-zayed-national-museum\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2275867 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/1765069583_171_zayed-national-museum-foster-partners-saadiyat-island-architecture-cultural-abu-dhabi_dezeen_2364_he.jpeg\" alt=\"Zayed National Museum by Foster + Partner\" width=\"2364\" height=\"1329\"  \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/12\/02\/foster-partners-zayed-national-museum\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Foster + Partners unveils long-awaited Zayed National Museum on Saadiyat Island<\/a><\/p>\n<p>British studio Foster + Partners&#8217; long-awaited <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/12\/02\/foster-partners-zayed-national-museum\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zayed National Museum opened on Saudi Arabia&#8217;s Saadiyat Island<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The museum is the centrepiece of Saadiyat Island&#8217;s cultural district and celebrates the history, culture and landscape of the Emirates across seven galleries.<\/p>\n<p>Dutch studio Mecanoo&#8217;s Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi, which measures 35,000 square metres, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/12\/02\/mecanoo-natural-history-museum-abu-dhabi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">also completed on Saadiyat Island this week<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/12\/02\/es-devlin-miami-art-week-library-of-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2275796 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/library-of-us-miami-art-week-es-devlin_dezeen_2364_hero-852x479.jpg\" alt=\"Es Devlin Miami Art Week\" width=\"2364\" height=\"1330\"  \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/12\/02\/es-devlin-miami-art-week-library-of-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Es Devlin erects monumental rotating library on Miami beach<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In the US, Miami art week kicked off, showcasing a number of design and art installations. Among them was British designer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/12\/02\/es-devlin-miami-art-week-library-of-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Es Devlin&#8217;s massive rotating library, Library of Us<\/a>, which was installed on a beachfront.<\/p>\n<p>Visitors to the event could also enjoy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/12\/03\/pilar-zeta-observer-effect-miami-art-week-2025\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">artist Pilar Zeta&#8217;s chromatic colonnade<\/a> and design studio <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/12\/03\/stephen-burks-alpi-design-miami\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stephen Burks Man Made&#8217;s The Lost Cloth Object<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/12\/03\/tv-interior-design-dens-claire-keane-opinion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2258796 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/tv-snug-selencky-parsons-weathered-steel-glass-extension-london-hero_dezeen_1704_col_0-852x479.jpg\" alt=\"A den in The Weathered Steel House in London\" width=\"1704\" height=\"958\"  \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/12\/03\/tv-interior-design-dens-claire-keane-opinion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;What to do with the TV is among the most challenging design problems in today&#8217;s American home&#8221;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In an opinion piece this week, interior designer Claire Keane looked at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/12\/03\/tv-interior-design-dens-claire-keane-opinion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">challenges of designing living rooms with large TV<\/a>s.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;What to do with the TV is among the most challenging design problems in today&#8217;s American home,&#8221; Keane said.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/12\/05\/james-mccrery-dismissed-white-house-ballroom-architect\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2232310 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/white-house-east-wing-ballroom-mccrery-architects_dezeen_2364_col_1-852x479.jpg\" alt=\"White House ballroom\" width=\"2256\" height=\"1268\"  \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/12\/05\/james-mccrery-dismissed-white-house-ballroom-architect\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Donald Trump removes James McCrery as White House ballroom architect<\/a><\/p>\n<p>US president Donald Trump has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/12\/05\/james-mccrery-dismissed-white-house-ballroom-architect\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dismissed James McCrery as the lead architect for his White House ballroom<\/a>. Instead, the project will be led by Shalom Baranes Associates.<\/p>\n<p>Trump has also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/12\/04\/trump-redesign-dulles-airport\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">called for a redesign of the Eero Saarinen-designed Dulles Airport<\/a> near Washington DC.
