{"id":430230,"date":"2025-12-07T04:17:02","date_gmt":"2025-12-07T04:17:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/430230\/"},"modified":"2025-12-07T04:17:02","modified_gmt":"2025-12-07T04:17:02","slug":"flower-mound-teen-mourned-after-tragic-accident-nbc-5-dallas-fort-worth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/430230\/","title":{"rendered":"Flower Mound teen mourned after tragic accident \u2013 NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Friends surrounded family as churches opened their doors in Flower Mound on Wednesday, one day after a 14-year-old was hit and killed while walking home from school.<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday, Flower Mound police say a driver stopped at a stop sign on Browning Road and Valley Ridge Boulevard hit Isha Mishra as she began crossing the street just a few blocks from home.<\/p>\n<p>She was rushed to Medical City Denton Hospital, where she later died.<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday, with loved ones crowding her home, her uncle Sambit Mishra told NBC 5 that they\u2019re remembering her for her love of singing and dancing, a desire to learn sign language, and dreams of a career helping others.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe just hope wherever she is that she\u2019s happy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He said she had a kind heart and cared deeply for friends.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Mishra hosted several at a Friendsgiving.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, Trietsch United Methodist Church opened its sanctuary to some of those classmates and others trying to process the loss.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, it was devastating,\u201d said Senior Pastor Daneil Humbert.<\/p>\n<p>He said the loss is felt community-wide.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, it has ripple effects, right? It has ripple effects for the teachers and administrators, certainly for the families involved for this young woman\u2019s family, for the driver\u2019s family, for friends, even coworkers, church members, it has ripple effects,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd again, it\u2019s always been our desire to help people, to let them know that we care, that God cares, and that we want to do whatever we can to help.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tLoved ones remembering a 14-year-old high school freshman who was killed while walking home from school. NBC 5&#8217;s Larry Collins tells us about the family\u2019s message of forgiveness.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>Police said the driver, a 60-year-old Lewisville resident, remained at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>As of now, no charges have been filed.<\/p>\n<p>Amid their grief, Mishra\u2019s uncle said they\u2019re moving forward as they believe she would.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe\u2019s such a kind person. We don\u2019t have any hate or anything bad for the person. We don\u2019t know what happened, how it happened. We still don\u2019t know, but then, there\u2019s no resentment in us. Isha would have not had any anger or resentment. She would have just forgiven,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Following the collision, Lewisville ISD released a statement:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are deeply saddened to confirm that a Marcus 9th Grade Campus student was killed today in an auto pedestrian accident off campus.
