NYPD detectives are searching for a man who opened fire on a group of rivals during a brazen daylight shooting, but only hit an innocent 64-year-old woman<\/a>, police said Saturday.<\/p>\n

Victim Francisca Nunez was nearing the corner of W. 204th St. and Broadway in Inwood<\/a> at around 4:15 p.m. on Nov. 24 when the stray bullet hit her in the buttocks, cops said.<\/p>\n

The shot was fired by a young man in a black, fur-lined coat<\/a> who police said was aiming at a group of males at the corner.<\/p>\n

Cops recovered surveillance images of the gunman, which they released on Saturday in the hopes that someone would recognize him.<\/p>\n

Nunez told\u00a0ABC7<\/a> from her bed at Harlem Hospital, where she was in stable condition, that she saw dozens of teens dressed in black who were arguing when one of them pulled out a knife.<\/p>\n

She then heard a gunshot and said she knew right away that she\u2019d been shot.<\/p>\n

\u201cI felt the heat in my leg,\u201d she told the outlet. \u201cThen came the blood.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nunez said she didn\u2019t know if or when doctors will remove the bullet, which remains lodged in her left upper thigh.<\/p>\n

But the retired mom of four told the outlet she\u2019s now afraid to walk the streets, and is angry at the gun violence in the city.<\/p>\n

\u201c(These kids) should stay in school instead of running around the streets trying to kill each other,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Police on Saturday said the gunman only fired one bullet at the group, which hit Nunez.<\/p>\n

A motive for the shooting was not immediately disclosed.<\/p>\n

The gunman was last seen running south on Vermilyea Ave., cops said. He\u2019s described as having a medium complexion and was last seen wearing the black jacket, a black sweater, grey sweatpants and black sneakers.<\/p>\n
