The Philadelphia Eagles<\/a> have lost two games in a row and have gone just 4-4 over their last eight, and much of their struggles can be attributed to their offensive malaise.<\/p>\n

The Eagles’ offense has been a major issue all season, ranking 24th in the NFL in yards per game and facing criticism from all angles. Jalen Hurts has been under fire, Saquon Barkley doesn’t look like the same player from last season, A.J. Brown has been an enigma and first-year offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo looks lost.<\/p>\n

Regarding the latter, it appears that Philadelphia has made a significant change.<\/p>\n

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler has reported that head coach Nick Sirianni has been “more involved in offensive preparations” as the Eagles get ready to battle the Los Angeles Chargers in a pivotal Monday night matchup.<\/p>\n

“Sirianni has been more vocal in offensive meetings and has been presenting material alongside offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo, sources said,” Fowler wrote<\/a>. “According to one source, he has been addressing the group for longer than usual at the top of the meetings before ceding to Patullo, who continues to run them.”<\/p>\n

Sirianni has stood by Patullo all season long, and while he clearly isn’t firing him, he seems to be attempting to jumpstart the offense by being more hands on.<\/p>\n

Patullo has been much maligned by Eagles fans all year, so much so that his house was egged following a 24-15 loss to the Chicago Bears on Black Friday.<\/p>\n

Sirianni said after the Bears defeat that Patullo would remain the play caller, but perhaps Sirianni wants to have more an influence over the offense moving forward.<\/p>\n

Philadelphia got off to a 4-0 start on the campaign, but even then, things doesn’t seem right, as Philly labored to find any sort of offensive consistency.<\/p>\n

With the regular season inching closer and closer to its end, the Eagles definitely need to rectify their issues now before the problems ultimately result in an early playoff exit.<\/p>\n

Philadelphia remains in first place in the NFC East.<\/p>\n
