NASCAR is currently racing on the Streets of Downtown Chicago. It marks the third year of the Chicago Street Race.<\/p>\n
Indycar has several street races. When it comes to the race in the streets of Detroit, it\u2019s tradition for the race winner to celebrate by going for a swim in the fountain. <\/p>\n
The NASCAR circuit in Chicago runs through Grant Park. The Buckingham Fountain inside the park is a landmark that\u2019s been in the park since 1927.<\/p>\n
However, drivers have been warned not to carry the Indycar traditions into Chicago. Taking a swim in the fountain would result in a $500 fine and a misdemeanor offence. <\/p>\n
Parker Kligerman explains that city officials gave him a warning<\/p>\n
Parker Kligerman has raced in the NASCAR Xfinity Series event. He once stated that he planned to jump in the fountain if he won. <\/p>\n
He was quickly corrected\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cI was told that back in 2023,\u201d Parker Kligerman confirmed via TNT Sports.<\/p>\n \u201cOn national television, I said that if I won, I\u2019d jump in there. Then, I was promptly informed by many officials from the City of Chicago that it would be a misdemeanor.\u201d<\/p>\n The NASCAR Cup Series takes the green flag on Sunday.
