One man was killed and another was sent to the hospital in a double shooting that happened in West Philadelphia on Saturday night, police said.<\/p>\n

In a Sunday update, police said officers located the victims of the double shooting after a report of a person with a gun that happened along the 5400 block of Locust Street in West Philly at about 8:07 p.m. on Saturday.<\/p>\n

When first responders arrived at the scene, officials said, the found a 39-year-old man who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds as well as a 35-year-old man who has been shot in his lower extremities. <\/p>\n

Both men were taken to a nearby hospital where, officials said, the 39-year-old man was pronounced at about 8:33 p.m. <\/p>\n

The other victim, police said, has been hospitalized in stable condition. <\/p>\n

Police said that no information was immediately available on a motive or any potential suspects in this incident and no arrests have been made.<\/p>\n

But, an investigation, officials said, is underway. <\/p>\n

As of Saturday, Dec, 6, 2025, there were 205 reported homicides in Philadelphia so far this year, down more than 15% from the same time last year which ultimately saw the lowest number of homicides in a decade, according to police data<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Philadelphia Police Department is seeking more information on this incident.
