The Red Sox already have improved their starting rotation with two offseason trades, and Craig Breslow might not be done. <\/p>\n

Boston is among the teams who have checked in<\/a> on Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte, according to USA Today\u2019s Bob Nightengale. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe biggest star who is a realistic candidate to be traded is Ketel Marte,\u201d Nightengale wrote in a story published Sunday. <\/p>\n

Marte, who just played on the first year of a six-year, $116.5 million contract<\/a>, is under control through 2030 with a player option in 2031. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe D-backs however, believe now is the (time) to sever ties, and are in desperate need for pitching,\u201d Nightengale wrote. \u201cThe Red Sox, Rays and Tigers have all checked in, with each having the pitching depth to satisfy the D-backs\u2019 needs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last week, Nightengale mentioned the Red Sox among teams on the \u201cradar,\u201d<\/a> as well.<\/p>\n

Breslow has done a fine job raising the ceiling of the starting rotation<\/a> by trading for veteran Sonny Gray and Johan Oviedo. It\u2019s provided the Red Sox will valuable pitching depth including top-end starters Garrett Crochet, Brayan Bello, Gray as well as others like Oviedo, Kutter Crawford, Patrick Sandoval, Payton Tolle, Connelly Early, Hunter Dobbins and Kyle Harrison. <\/p>\n

Whether or not all will remain in Boston for the 2026 campaign, however, is yet to be seen.<\/p>\n
