A Jacksonville man was arrested early Saturday after deputies say he fired gunshots that struck a vehicle outside a Cedar Point bar.<\/p>\n
According to the Carteret County Sheriff\u2019s Office, deputies responded just after 1 a.m. on Dec. 6 to reports of gunfire at RipTidez Bar and Grill. When deputies arrived, they determined no one had been injured and that the incident appeared to be isolated between the people involved.<\/p>\n
Investigators say the suspect, identified as 33-year-old Aron Arriaga of Jacksonville, shot the victim\u2019s vehicle in a nearby parking area. Detectives processed the scene and collected shell casings and surveillance footage from the business.<\/p>\n
Shortly after the shooting, deputies shared information about the suspect\u2019s vehicle with surrounding law enforcement agencies. The Onslow County Sheriff\u2019s Office later located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop, where Arriaga was found behind the wheel, authorities said.<\/p>\n
A firearm was seized during the stop, and Arriaga was arrested by Onslow County deputies on a charge of driving while impaired. He was taken to the Onslow County Jail.<\/p>\n
Carteret County deputies say additional charges related to the shooting are forthcoming.
