The first quarter can be largely summed up by two big plays for both offenses. The Ravens took a quick 3-0 lead on the strength of Lamar Jackson’s 31-yard completion to Zay Flowers. Pittsburgh countered on its first drive with a 55-yard completion from Aaron Rodgers to DK Metcalf that set up Rodgers’ first touchdown run as a Steeler.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Pittsburgh ultimately scored 17 answered points that included a touchdown run by Kenneth Gainwell that was set up by James Pierre’s interception of Jackson. Jackson responded with a 13-play, 60-yard drive that was punctuated by his first touchdown run since Week 1. It remained a 17-9 game after the Ravens missed their point-after attempt.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Steelers’ defense did a good job in the first half on Derrick Henry, who was held to 34 yards on 11 carries. Conversely, Pittsburgh’s running game was held in check with just 22 yards on nine carries. The Steelers’ biggest offensive contributor in the first half was Metcalf, who caught four of nine targets for 92 yards.\u00a0<\/p>\n
