A Fort Worth boot shop has landed on a New York Times list of the top 50 clothing stores in the United States.<\/p>\n

M. L. Leddy\u2019s<\/a> in the Stockyards was praised by The Times<\/a> for boots \u201cin leathers ranging from calf to alligator. <\/p>\n

\u201cAvailable in myriad colors, there are pairs for everyone, including baby boots that fit in the palm of a hand.\u201d<\/p>\n

The store is one of two in Texas, with the other in San Angelo<\/a>, where its custom boots are made. The company was started by its namesake in 1922.<\/p>\n

Leddy\u2019s reacted to being chosen for the list by sending a \u201cheartfelt Texas thank you\u201d to The Times in a Facebook post<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in Texas, Houston\u2019s Mr. Larkin also made the list. The store is an outpost of a \u201cbeloved\u201d Danish boutique and offers a selection of \u201cloose feminine clothing and punchy accessories,\u201d The Times wrote. The list focused on \u201cdistinctive and inspirational\u201d stores, most of which are independent small businesses.<\/p>\n

Absent were any shops in Dallas, which is home to the cultural staple Neiman Marcus<\/a> and to vintage stores such as the celebrity hot spot<\/a> Dolly Python<\/a>.<\/p>\n
