The Fiesta Sports Foundation gave a record $1.5 million to 540 teachers across Arizona to fund specific classroom projects as part of its Wishes for Teachers program this year.<\/p>\n
That includes grants of $2,500 each for six Scottsdale teachers, according to a press release. Those teachers are:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Ramona Emch, a first grade reading and social studies teacher at Sandpiper Elementary School, wishes to buy reading games, puppets and art supplies to help first graders learn through play and creativity.
\u2022 Emily Fields, a fourth grade general education teacher at Navajo Elementary School, wishes to add flexible seating, a calm-down corner, new books and essential tech tools to improve engagement and focus.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Carolyn Hahn, a sixth and seventh grade career exploration, technology and gifted teacher at Cheyenne Traditional School, wishes to buy engineering challenge kits that let their students design, build and test creative projects.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Tess Kovatch, a first grade general education teacher at Cochise Elementary School, wishes to add engaging activities and materials that make learning fun and exciting for all students.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Melinda Piyis, a kindergarten through sixth grade STEAM teacher at Copper Canyon Elementary School, wishes to purchase a multi-project 3D printer for engineering students to design and build real-world solutions.<\/p>\n
