It marked the Isles&#8217; first loss in the second half of a back-to-back this season (now 4\u20131-0).<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-1\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"5w\">Uvis Balinskis opened the scoring early with a point shot through heavy traffic, his first goal of the season and just the seventh of his NHL career. Despite Barzal scoring\u2014New York had been 7\u20131\u20130 this season when he found the back of the net\u2014the Islanders couldn\u2019t generate enough offense to keep up. David Rittich made 26 saves in the loss, while Daniil Tarasov stopped 20 for Florida.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-4\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"66\">The defeat highlighted a lingering issue: New York is now 3\u201310\u20130 when scoring two goals or fewer.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-5\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"69\">Head coach Patrick Roy acknowledged the toll of a grueling week that included two games against Tampa Bay, a matchup with powerhouse Colorado, and this back-to-back in Florida.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-6\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"6c\">\u201cI feel like we could have been a little more connected,\u201d Roy said. \u201cOverall, that was a tough schedule.
