{"id":432472,"date":"2025-12-08T04:18:14","date_gmt":"2025-12-08T04:18:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/432472\/"},"modified":"2025-12-08T04:18:14","modified_gmt":"2025-12-08T04:18:14","slug":"hottest-decembers-in-arizona-since-1895","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/432472\/","title":{"rendered":"Hottest Decembers in Arizona since 1895"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">(Stacker) &#8211; In 2022, the continental United States experienced its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.noaa.gov\/news\/earth-had-its-6th-hottest-july-and-year-to-date-on-record\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"(opens in a new window)\" target=\"_blank\">third hottest July since 1895<\/a>, according to data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, while 20 states saw one of their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncei.noaa.gov\/monitoring-content\/sotc\/national\/statewidetavgrank\/statewidetavgrank-202207.png\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"(opens in a new window)\" target=\"_blank\">10 hottest days<\/a> in the same month. The year prior, July marked the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.noaa.gov\/news\/its-official-july-2021-was-earths-hottest-month-on-record\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"(opens in a new window)\" target=\"_blank\">hottest month on record worldwide<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Climate change is driving rising temperatures and more record heat. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.climate.gov\/news-features\/understanding-climate\/climate-change-global-temperature\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"(opens in a new window)\" target=\"_blank\">Earth\u2019s temperature<\/a> has climbed each decade since 1880 by about .14 degrees Fahrenheit, or roughly 2 degrees Fahrenheit total.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stacker.com\/arizona\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"(opens in a new window)\" target=\"_blank\">Stacker<\/a> compiled a ranking of the hottest Decembers in Arizona since 1895 using data from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncei.noaa.gov\/access\/monitoring\/climate-at-a-glance\/statewide\/time-series\/2\/tavg\/all\/5\/1895-2023?base_prd=true&amp;begbaseyear=1901&amp;endbaseyear=2000\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"(opens in a new window)\" target=\"_blank\">National Centers for Environmental Information<\/a>. Rankings are based on the highest average temperature in each month. For each of the hottest months listed below, we\u2019ve included the average state temperature, state-wide highs and lows for the month, and the total precipitation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\"><b>#10.
