{"id":432525,"date":"2025-12-08T04:50:44","date_gmt":"2025-12-08T04:50:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/432525\/"},"modified":"2025-12-08T04:50:44","modified_gmt":"2025-12-08T04:50:44","slug":"army-doctor-accused-of-secretly-recording-patients-in-texas-jail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/432525\/","title":{"rendered":"Army doctor accused of secretly recording patients in Texas jail"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"Paragraph-sc-1tqpf5s-0 bFwqVI body-paragraph body-paragraph\">A U.S. Army doctor accused of sexual misconduct in a November lawsuit is being held in a Texas county jail, according to an Army <a href=\"https:\/\/forthoodmediacenter.com\/fort-hood-officials-order-maj-blaine-mcgraw-into-pretrial-confinement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/forthoodmediacenter.com\/fort-hood-officials-order-maj-blaine-mcgraw-into-pretrial-confinement\/\">statement<\/a> released Thursday. <\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-sc-1tqpf5s-0 bFwqVI body-paragraph body-paragraph\">\u201cFort Hood officials ordered Maj. Blaine McGraw into pretrial confinement on Dec. 2, and he is currently being held in the Bell County Jail, Texas, after apparently violating conditions of liberty imposed by his commander,\u201d the statement said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-sc-1tqpf5s-0 bFwqVI body-paragraph body-paragraph\">Though he is jailed, the statement said, McGraw has not been charged with a crime and his confinement will be reviewed within a week by \u201ca neutral and detached military magistrate,\u201d as is consistent with the Uniformed Code of Military Justice, to determine if he will continue to be incarcerated. <\/p>\n<p>RELATED<img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/VEJCY22XBZGM3NDSIAKHFJTMOQ.jpg\"  width=\"6000\" height=\"3992\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-sc-1tqpf5s-0 bFwqVI body-paragraph body-paragraph\">A 13-page civil lawsuit accuses McGraw, an OB-GYN at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center at Fort Hood, of a slew of sexual and professional misconduct, including an allegation that he took video footage of a breast and pelvic exam. <\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-sc-1tqpf5s-0 bFwqVI body-paragraph body-paragraph\">The Texas installation said that McGraw was suspended Oct. 17 \u201cupon a patient\u2019s allegation of misconduct,\u201d and that the Army\u2019s Criminal Investigation Division initiated an investigation \u201cwithin hours.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-sc-1tqpf5s-0 bFwqVI body-paragraph body-paragraph\">Letters were sent out to potentially affected patients at Fort Hood and Tripler Army Medical Center on Oahu, Hawaii, where McGraw was assigned from 2019 to 2023 while completing his medical residency. <\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-sc-1tqpf5s-0 bFwqVI body-paragraph body-paragraph\">The Army\u2019s Criminal Investigation Division said in a statement Wednesday that hundreds of interviews had so far been conducted and over half a terabyte \u201cof digital media\u201d had been reviewed. <\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-sc-1tqpf5s-0 bFwqVI body-paragraph body-paragraph\">The division also shared a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cid.army.mil\/Media-Resources\/Releases\/Article-Display\/Article\/4347202\/army-cid-provides-update-on-investigation-into-allegations-of-patient-recording\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.cid.army.mil\/Media-Resources\/Releases\/Article-Display\/Article\/4347202\/army-cid-provides-update-on-investigation-into-allegations-of-patient-recording\/\">screening questionnaire<\/a> for individuals who might be victims or otherwise have information about the investigation. <\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-sc-1tqpf5s-0 bFwqVI body-paragraph body-paragraph\">Hawaii\u2019s congressional delegation sent a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.schatz.senate.gov\/imo\/media\/doc\/letter_on_mcgraw_investigation1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.schatz.senate.gov\/imo\/media\/doc\/letter_on_mcgraw_investigation1.pdf\">letter<\/a> to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Army Secretary Dan Driscoll, and Gen. Steven Stebbins, acting Pentagon inspector general, on Dec. 1, calling for a probe into the military\u2019s failures to stop McGraw\u2019s alleged misconduct over the years. <\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-sc-1tqpf5s-0 bFwqVI body-paragraph body-paragraph\">Andrew Cobos, the attorney who filed the Bell County lawsuit on Nov. 10, said in an email to Military Times on Friday that his clients \u201care relieved.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-sc-1tqpf5s-0 bFwqVI body-paragraph body-paragraph\">\u201cFor the first time since October 17, they feel safe knowing [that] McGraw is in jail. Major McGraw demonstrated that he could not be trusted. He disobeyed orders.
