We apologize for the pun, but it seems the proper way to tell you that the Dick\u2019s Last Resort near American Airlines Center closed on Nov. 30, according to Culturemap Dallas<\/a>. The restaurant, known for its \u201csaucy\u201d smack-talking waiters and a marketing story about a dude named Dick who failed at his big plans and resorted to opening a bar-staurant, offered endless riffs and merch built around dick jokes. The first one opened in the West End in 1985, and after an ownership reshuffle, grew into a chain with 12 locations nationwide. The Dallas location moved to 2211 N. Lamar St., closer to the AAC, in 2005.<\/p>\n So that\u2019s 40 years of doing this business, which is actually a pretty good run for Dick\u2019s. (Again, sorry, but writing about the joint without resorting to penis puns is hard. And those last two were unintentional.)<\/p>\n CultureMap, citing a representative of the Nashville-based chain, reported business was falling at the Dallas location.
