{"id":432709,"date":"2025-12-08T06:52:16","date_gmt":"2025-12-08T06:52:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/432709\/"},"modified":"2025-12-08T06:52:16","modified_gmt":"2025-12-08T06:52:16","slug":"ohio-man-pleads-guilty-to-stealing-more-than-600k-from-veterans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/432709\/","title":{"rendered":"Ohio man pleads guilty to stealing more than $600K from veterans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>DAYTON, Ohio (WKRC) &#8211; Danny Dale Gordon, 48, of Kettering, has admitted to embezzling money from AMVETS, a nonprofit organization that supports veterans, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whio.com\/news\/local\/local-man-admits-stealing-over-600000-veterans-non-profit\/XPXSNTZEHNEN5GOQ7IXIBXGILQ\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WHIO<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>Gordon, who served as an AMVETS post commander in Dayton from January 2022 to May 2024, pleaded guilty to wire fraud, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.<\/p>\n<p>He is accused of transferring money from the organization\u2019s fundraising and scholarship accounts into its primary account before withdrawing the funds for personal use, WHIO reported.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors say the money was spent at casinos, on travel and hotel expenses, and at a Dayton-area gentlemen\u2019s club.
