The CEO of JPMorgan Chase has taken the head of Donald Trump\u2019s media company to task for claiming the lender \u201cdebanked\u201d the firm under political pressure from the Joe Biden administration.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople have to grow up here, okay, and stop making up things,\u201d Jamie Dimon told Maria Bartiromo on Fox News\u2019 Sunday Morning Futures. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe do not debank people for religious or political affiliations,\u201d he went on. \u201cWe\u2019ve debanked people who are Democrats, we\u2019ve debanked people who are Republicans, we\u2019ve debanked religious folks, and never for that reason.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dimon was responding to comments from Devin Nunes\u2014a former congressman now serving as chair of Trump\u2019s Intelligence Advisory Board and CEO of Trump Media & Technology Group, which owns Truth Social\u2014on the same show last month. <\/p>\n

Speaking with Bartiromo, Nunes addressed a new investigation by the Florida Attorney General\u2019s Office into allegations JPMorgan \u201ccoordinated\u201d with the Biden Justice Department to supply sensitive banking records to prosecutors, and to close Trump Media\u2019s accounts at the bank.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe just became a public company in 2024, and we were nowhere around in 2021 on January 6th,\u201d Nunes told Fox. \u201cSo why would Trump Media be subpoenaed at that time during this investigation? It doesn\u2019t make any sense.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cWe need to know why that happened,\u201d he went on. \u201cAfter discussing this with them for several months, going back and forth, it looked political at the time, but now we know that they were under subpoenas that they didn\u2019t tell us about as they were cooperating with the Biden Department of Justice.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dimon framed himself as a longstanding opponent of debanking in his subsequent interview on the show. \u201cI don\u2019t like debanking people. We live under very strict rules and requirements,\u201d he said. \u201cTo protect the country, we have to report things to the government, we are required to report things to the government. I can\u2019t even tell you when we do that, because we can\u2019t do that either.\u201d <\/p>\n
