When asked if all the support Trump has from Republicans in Congress comes from a place of fear, Greene responded: \u201cI think they’re terrified to step out of line and get a nasty Truth Social post on them.\u201d<\/p>\n
Greene then added that \u201cit would shock people\u201d when they find out how Republicans in Congress talk about Trump behind the scenes.<\/p>\n
When the interviewer, Lesley Stahl, pressed her to elaborate, the congresswoman said: \u201cI watched many of my colleagues go from making fun of him, making fun of how he talks, making fun of me constantly for supporting him, to\u2026kissing his ass,\u201d after he won the 2024 Republican primary.<\/p>\n
How Did Trump Respond To The Death Threats Against Greene?<\/p>\n
When asked about the death threats against her and her son, and why she blamed Trump, Greene said: \u201cThe subject line for the direct death threats on my son was his words. “Marjorie Traitor Greene.” Those were death threats\u2026directly fueled by President Trump. And I told him. I told JD Vance. I told them all. Sent those directly to them.\u201d When Stahl asked how they responded to this, the congresswoman said the vice president told her, \u201cWe’ll look into it.\u201d But she got a \u201cresponse from President Trump that I will keep private, but it wasn’t very nice\u2026It was extremely unkind.\u201d Last month, when a reporter asked Trump about Greene receiving death threats, Trump dismissed it, saying, \u201cMarjorie \u2018Traitor\u2019 Greene. I don’t think her life is in danger. I don’t think\u2014Frankly, I don’t think anybody cares about her.\u201d<\/p>\n
