(Photo by Gary Hershorn\/Getty Images) <\/p>\n<p data-v-3646484b=\"\">From about 6 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on weekdays, the F will take over the M\u2019s current Manhattan\u2013Queens path, stopping at Queens Plaza, Court Sq\u201323 St, Lexington Av\/53 St and 5 Av\/53 St.<br \/>The M will begin serving 21 St\u2013Queensbridge, Roosevelt Island, Lexington Av\/63 St and 57 St \u2014 stations currently on the F line.<\/p>\n<p data-v-3646484b=\"\">Express and local patterns in Queens remain the same: the F will run express and the M will run local during daytime hours.<\/p>\n<p> Why are the F and M trains swapping? <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/gettyimages-2207232144.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-v-0dea8073=\"\"\/> <\/p>\n<p data-v-0dea8073=\"\">MTA subway station OMNY turnstile entrance for E, F, M &amp; R trains, Queens, New York. (Photo by Gary Hershorn\/Getty Images) <\/p>\n<ul original-article-post=\"\" origination_station=\"WNYW\" data-v-03e8ff79=\"\" data-v-3646484b=\"\">\n<li class=\"article-ct\" data-v-03e8ff79=\"\">Take the M for 21 St\u2013Queensbridge, Roosevelt Island, Lexington Av\/63 St and 57 St.<\/li>\n<li class=\"article-ct\" data-v-03e8ff79=\"\">Take the F for Queens Plaza, Court Sq\u201323 St, Lexington Av\/53 St and 5 Av\/53 St.<\/li>\n<li class=\"article-ct\" data-v-03e8ff79=\"\">Transfer between the F and E\/R at Jackson Hts\u2013Roosevelt Av for express service in Queens.<\/li>\n<li class=\"article-ct\" data-v-03e8ff79=\"\">Transfers between lines will shift: Use 34 St\u2013Herald Sq to transfer between F and M.<\/li>\n<li class=\"article-ct\" data-v-03e8ff79=\"\">Use Jackson Hts\u2013Roosevelt Av for transfers between M and E\/R.<\/li>\n<li class=\"article-ct\" data-v-03e8ff79=\"\">Use 47\u201350 Sts\u2013Rockefeller Ctr or Jackson Heights for F\u2013R transfers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-v-3646484b=\"\">A free street-level transfer remains available between the Q at 59 St and the F\/M at Lexington Av\/63 St.<\/p>\n<p> F and M train: Weekends and nights <\/p>\n<p data-v-3646484b=\"\">Overnight and weekend service patterns will stay the same.
