PHOENIX (AZFamily)<\/b> \u2014 Two masked burglars broke into a Phoenix smoke shop early Monday morning, stealing thousands of dollars in cash and merchandise combined in what surveillance video shows was a quick operation.<\/p>\n
The break-in at Rollerz Smoke Shop<\/a> happened around 3 a.m. on Monday. Surveillance video from the shop shows one person wearing a hood and mask approaching the store with a trash bin, while another person uses what appears to be a sledgehammer to break a window.<\/p>\n Once inside, one burglar lifted the store\u2019s cash box while the other swept vapes into the bin.<\/p>\n \u201cI woke up and my boyfriend had called me and said, you don\u2019t work today. And I was like, why? And he was like, you guys got robbed,\u201d said Jacqualyn Long, assistant manager at Rollerz Smoke Shop.<\/p>\n Long said the thieves took the store\u2019s cash box, which contained only a couple hundred dollars, as well as numerous vaporizers.<\/p>\n \u201cThose were our main profits were the Geek Bars and just vapes in general,\u201d Long said.<\/p>\n Long believes the suspects wanted the vapes to resell for quick profit.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat we think is it\u2019s just about the money. They just wanted to sell them,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n This burglary isn\u2019t the only smoke shop break-in Arizona\u2019s Family has reported on recently. Last month, a car rammed through the doors of a Tempe smoke shop<\/a> before the driver stole vapes.<\/p>\n Long said learning about the crime was heartbreaking.<\/p>\n \u201cI will say it broke my heart. Cause I\u2019ve been working here for like six months, and I\u2019ve gotten to know the owner very personally, and he doesn\u2019t deserve it, nor do any other small business. I just don\u2019t get the point of why they would target a small business,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n By Monday afternoon, the broken window was boarded up, though small pieces of glass remained outside the store.<\/p>\n Long had a message for the suspects: \u201cI hope you know we will find you. No matter what, at the end of the day, you\u2019re going to get caught. And karma is rough.\u201d<\/p>\n Anyone with information can contact Phoenix police or submit an anonymous tip through Silent Witness<\/a>.
