EastEnders has revealed Sam Mitchell\u2019s next sinister plan<\/a> as she attempts to get her hands on some cash. Sam made a sensational return to Walford this week, heading straight to Phil\u2019s house to steal money from his safe. Nigel caught her but allowed her to take it, mistaking her for his daughter Clare<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After a run in with Kat and a meet up with Ricky, Sam tried to flee Albert Square \u2013 but Jack ran after her and stopped her at the tube station. It was then that Sam confessed that she had found a lump and feared she has breast cancer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In today\u2019s episode<\/a>, Sam explained her concern that she had the same illness as her late mum Peggy. However, Jack quickly realised that she hadn\u2019t actually seen a doctor yet.<\/p>\n

They were interrupted by furious Phil, who came to collect his stolen cash. When Sam\u2019s cancer fears were brought up, Phil didn\u2019t believe her sister\u2019s claims.<\/p>\n

Jack filled in Denise about Sam\u2019s return and her health worries, so Denise met up with her in the caf\u00e9 to encourage her to get her lump checked out, for the sake of her son.<\/p>\n

Desperate, Sam told Denise that she would go to the doctor if she and Jack gave her \u00a320,000 for Ricky\u2019s future. Denise agreed to the deal and so Sam phoned the GP and made an emergency appointment for the next day.<\/p>\n

Denise then explained the situation to Jack \u2013 but revealed that she didn\u2019t plan on giving Sam the money and was just stringing her along so she would get checked out. <\/p>\n

Sam, Jack, Denise and Ricky headed over to the Slater house for a family dinner, though things didn\u2019t go well as Jean\u2019s mental health continued to decline<\/a>.<\/p>\n

When Sam brought up the payment, Denise refused to pay up until she went to the doctor \u2013 and confirmed that she would be coming with her to the appointment.<\/p>\n

Sam headed back to see Phil and ask for a place to stay, and Phil eventually agreed to let Sam sleep on the sofa for the night. <\/p>\n

Left with Nigel, Sam realised that he still thought she was Clare and that he was willing to do anything to help his so-called daughter.<\/p>\n

“I want you to know that Phil\u2019s not the only one with a few quid squirrelled away,” Nigel said. “I\u2019m still your dad, so if you need anything, you just come to me.”<\/p>\n

Will Sam take advantage of Nigel\u2019s ill health and use him for financial gain?<\/p>\n

EastEnders<\/strong> airs on Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.<\/strong><\/p>\n
