Paramount CEO David Ellison desperately wants all of Warner Bros. Discovery \u2014\u00a0and he\u2019s reportedly willing to upend CNN if it means securing the Trump administration\u2019s approval.<\/p>\n

Ellison told multiple Trump administration officials he would demand changes to CNN if he acquired WBD\u2019s assets, according to a Wall Street Journal report<\/a>. The move is meant to appease CNN\u2019s most vocal critic, President Donald Trump, who has told people he wants new owners for the cable news network and changes to its programming schedule.<\/p>\n

The report follows multiple indications that CNN would face a revamp if it falls into the Ellisons\u2019\u00a0hands. Oracle co-founder and top Paramount investor Larry Ellison, David Ellison\u2019s father, spoke to a White House official<\/a> about axing hosts Erin Burnett and Brianna Keilar should Paramount purchase WBD, according to the Guardian.<\/p>\n

The White House and Paramount did not respond to immediate requests for comment. CNN declined to comment.<\/p>\n

Ellison on Monday laid out some of his vision for the network if Paramount succeeds in its hostile takeover bid of WBD. He told<\/a> CNBC\u2019s David Faber that he sought to build \u201ca scaled news service that is basically, fundamentally, in the trust business,\u201d\u00a0mirroring his vision for the Bari Weiss-led CBS News. <\/p>\n

When Faber asked if Ellison thought Trump \u201cembraced\u201d\u00a0the idea of him owning CNN, Ellison demurred.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve had great conversations with the president about this,\u201d Ellison said. \u201cI don\u2019t want to speak for him in any way, shape or form.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump seemed skeptical of the Ellisons on Monday, telling reporters that none of WBD\u2019s bidders were \u201cparticularly great friends of mine\u201d\u00a0and, in a Truth Social posts, lashing out at Paramount for airing a \u201c60 Minutes\u201d\u00a0interview with enemy Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).<\/p>\n

\u201cTHEY ARE NO BETTER THAN THE OLD OWNERSHIP, who just paid me millions of Dollars for FAKE REPORTING about your favorite President, ME!\u201d he wrote, referencing the $16 million settlement Paramount paid him in July in a lawsuit over a \u201c60 Minutes\u201d\u00a0episode.<\/p>\n
