Helmed by award-winning chef Tyson Cole, Uchi adds to a handful of new Japanese spots opening in Philly in the last few years. This location is the latest in the group\u2019s ever-expanding national empire. The spacious restaurant, which includes a full bar, an omakase counter, and plenty of plush booths, spotlights sushi as well as other hot and cold Japanese-style dishes. Happy hour is a highlight, and already, the restaurant is busy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\">This is your classic small-plates setup: tons of options, and you\u2019ll want to share all of the items. Portions are small.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\">The comfortable dining room is great for pricier dates or celebratory dinners. Because of the sharing-style of menu, larger groups will also enjoy getting to share more dishes. On a recent visit, there were a handful of corporate groups enjoying the restaurant.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\">Happy hour is already busy at this spot, so consider visiting between 5 and 6 p.m. to sample a $10 version of the hama chili, nigiri priced from $6 to $11, and other discounted items.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Texas-based Japanese chain Uchi made its Philadelphia debut in November in Center City.
