{"id":436611,"date":"2025-12-10T00:05:20","date_gmt":"2025-12-10T00:05:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/436611\/"},"modified":"2025-12-10T00:05:20","modified_gmt":"2025-12-10T00:05:20","slug":"exclusive-mom-of-beloved-it-worker-killed-by-nyc-hit-and-run-driver-pleads-for-driver-to-come-forward","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/436611\/","title":{"rendered":"Exclusive | Mom of beloved IT worker killed by NYC hit-and-run driver pleads for driver to come forward"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The mother of a beloved <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/12\/08\/us-news\/bmw-driver-strikes-kills-man-crossing-nyc-street-then-runs-off-on-foot-cops\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IT worker killed by a hit-and-run driver<\/a> pleaded for the motorist to come forward Tuesday \u2014 saying she forgives the killer. <\/p>\n<p>Heartbroken Keryann Stephens remembered her 27-year-old son Shariq Bryant as an \u201cangel\u201d who took care of his autistic brother and \u201clifted everyone up around him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bryant was visiting pals in The Bronx over the weekend when the driver of a 2025 BMW M8 slammed into him as he crossed the intersection on East 222nd near Boston Road at around 12:15 a.m. on Saturday, cops and his grieving kin said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Shariq Bryant, 27, was killed by a hit-and-run driver in the Bronx.  Obtained by NY Post<\/p>\n<p>The maniac motorist barreled into a pole before bolting on foot, leaving behind Bryant and an injured passenger inside the mangled car, according to the NYPD.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bryant, an IT tech visiting from Connecticut, was rushed with severe body trauma to Jacobi Medical Center, where he died.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Stephens urged her son\u2019s killer to turn himself in, while telling him \u201cI forgive you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou took a wonderful person away from a family. The Holy Spirit is going to lead you to turn yourself in,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m a God-fearing woman. I have to forgive you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The shattered mom said her son would want her to celebrate the upcoming holidays with his two younger brothers \u2014 one of whom is autistic \u2014 despite his tragic death.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The driver bolted out of the mangled BMW and left behind an injured passenger.  Obtained by NY Post<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe would want me to make sure they have a good Christmas,\u201d she said, breaking down in tears during a phone interview.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe already started buying presents.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bryant \u201calways put a smile on my face,\u201d she said, adding, \u201cWhen I\u2019m down, my son made me smile. He lifted me up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Family friend Taniyah Montgomery, 21, echoed those sentiments, comparing Bryant to \u201can adopted older brother\u201d prone to picking up tabs when they ate at Big Apple restaurants.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>IT tech Shariq Bryant was visiting pals in the Bronx when he was killed by a reckless driver.
