LOS ANGELES (KABC) — The death of former Sen. Mitt Romney’s sister-in-law<\/a> has been ruled a suicide, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner said Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Carrie Elizabeth Romney, 64, of Valencia, was found dead around 9 p.m. Oct. 10 in the 24000 block of Town Center Drive, according to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department.<\/p>\n

Carrie Romney died from blunt traumatic injuries after falling from the rooftop of a parking structure in Valencia, according to the medical examiner. She was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

The manner of death was deemed “suicide.”<\/p>\n

Mitt Romney was the governor of Massachusetts from 2003 to 2007 and was the GOP nominee in the 2012 presidential election. He served as senator of Utah from 2019 to 2025.<\/p>\n

Carrie Romney was married to Romney’s brother, George Scott Romney. According to court records, George Scott Romney filed for divorce in June.<\/p>\n
