Public sculptures by seven Texas artists have been installed along 16-acres of the Wiess Park greenway in Houston. Redbud Arts Center and the Houston Parks Board partnered on the project, on view through August 2026.<\/p>\n

Sculptures by Jaymes Earl, Carter Ernst, Tim Glover, Paul Kittelson, Michelle Matthews, Morgan Robinson, and Jebhani Vargas range from a group of 3D-printed Monarch butterflies to an abstract conglomeration of blue steel arcs and curves.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Beth White, Houston Parks Board President and CEO, said in a press release, \u201cArt and nature are deeply connected. Both inspire exploration, reflection, and joy.\u201d White called the Art Trail of Wiess Park \u201ca living gallery for the community.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tanja Peterson, Redbud Executive Director, credited Houston Parks Board member Don Aron with bringing the project to fruition. \u201cWorking with Don Aron on this project has been a deeply creative and community-minded collaboration,\u201d she said. \u201cWiess Park offers a place where neighbors can encounter beauty in their everyday routines, and that is the true power of public art.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr. Aron brought several local business entities together for the Wiess Park Trail of Art, and said his goal was \u201cto bring art into a space where people naturally gather and connect.\u201d<\/p>\n

Redbud Arts Center has a long history of public art \u201ctrails\u201d projects, including the notable Heights Boulevard Sculpture Project<\/a> in 2016, Richmond Avenue Public Art Trails beginning in 2021<\/a>, and the current JFK Art Way 2025<\/a>.<\/p>\n
