{"id":43886,"date":"2025-07-06T17:26:10","date_gmt":"2025-07-06T17:26:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/43886\/"},"modified":"2025-07-06T17:26:10","modified_gmt":"2025-07-06T17:26:10","slug":"hot-week-ahead-with-a-daily-chance-of-storms-action-news-jax","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/43886\/","title":{"rendered":"Hot week ahead with a daily chance of storms \u2013 Action News Jax"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 jsuuLb body-paragraph\">JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 The Action News Jax First Alert Weather Team is tracking temperatures in the 90s, afternoon storms in Florida, and Chantal\u2019s landfall.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 jsuuLb body-paragraph\"><b>Notes from the First Alert Weather Team:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sunday will be hot with highs in the 90s across our entire area.<\/li>\n<li>The morning hours will be mainly dry with scattered afternoon thunderstorms moving southwest to northeast across north Florida Sunday afternoon. Less coverage of rain is expected for South Georgia.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Storms will be capable of very heavy rain, frequent lightning, and gusty winds.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Lower risk of rip currents at the beaches on Sunday, thanks to a predominantly offshore wind.<\/li>\n<li>Heat continues into the upcoming week with highs each day well into the 90s and a daily chance for some afternoon thunderstorms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 jsuuLb body-paragraph\">TROPICS:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tropical Storm Chantal made landfall near Litchfield Beach, South Carolina, Sunday morning as a 50 mph tropical storm (max winds briefly were 60 mph as the storm approached landfall).<\/li>\n<li>Chantal will weaken Sunday as it moves over land, returning our seas and surf to a normal state.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Elsewhere, there are no areas of concern in the tropics.
