JACKSONVILLE, Fla.<\/strong> \u2013 The city of Jacksonville\u00a0<\/b>has\u00a0<\/b>launched its 2025\u00a0Get Covered Jax<\/a>!\u00a0campaign, which is designed to help Jacksonville residents without health insurance get covered.<\/p>\n

Mayor Donna Deegan and health care leaders in City Hall created Get Covered Jax! in 2023 because they wanted to help make the process of enrolling in a private health care plan as simple as possible.<\/p>\n

The campaign seeks to educate citizens about the benefits of having health insurance, eligibility, coverage options available, and best practices for navigating the Marketplace. <\/p>\n

It also provides resources to help consumers through the process.<\/p>\n

In order to help this information reach as many individuals as possible, the city is working with several faith-based leaders, community health care providers and media outlets to promote it.<\/p>\n

Deegan\u2019s health team and insurance agents will host a phone bank at WJCT Studios from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday to answer questions from Jacksonville residents, provide updates on potential changes, and assist with plan enrollment. Phonebank volunteers can be reached at 904-516-2552\u00a0during this window.<\/p>\n

The campaign was a huge success in its first two years.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Since the 2023 open enrollment period, the city has added 75,507 new enrollees on ACA — a 69% increase in folks on ACA plans in Duval County since 2023. <\/p>\n

There are now 184,795 Duval County residents on ACA in 2025 vs. 109,287 in 2023.<\/p>\n

Approximately 111,000 adults between the ages of 19-65 \u2013 roughly 10% of that population\u2013 are currently uninsured in Duval County. <\/p>\n

And from now through Jan. 15, 2026, eligible individuals can enroll in a private health care plan through the Florida Health Insurance Marketplace.<\/p>\n
