\u201cThe Marvelous Mrs. Maisel\u201d actress who was struck and killed<\/a> by a taxi while crossing a Midtown street was a Customs and Border Protection officer who had been looking forward to retiring \u2014 and was cherished for her warm greetings, her devastated neighbors told The Post.<\/p>\n

Wendy Davis \u2014 whose stage name was Wenne Alton Davis \u2014 worked full-time as a Customs agent at John F. Kennedy International Airport, even powering through the recent government shutdown without pay. She moonlighted as an actress, picking up small roles on the side, including a bit part as a cop in the Emmy-winning Amazon Prime series.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was a very bright and kind person,\u201d her 80-year-old Queens neighbor, Miok Lee, said Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was always very active. She did sports, I believe she did rowing. She was very lively. I saw her just a few days ago and we said hello. Oh my gosh, it\u2019s so sad, it\u2019s so shocking, my goodness.\u201d<\/p>\n

Davis was crossing Broadway near the West 53rd Street intersection just before 9 p.m. Monday when a 61-year-old Big Apple taxi driver in a Cadillac hit her while making a left turn, authorities and sources said. <\/p>\n

The 60-year-old Queens resident suffered severe head and body trauma and was rushed to Mount Sinai West Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries, cops said. <\/p>\n

Davis, who moonlighted as an actress, lived alone with her beloved cat Roxie and was known for her warm greetings. Instagram\/Wenne Alton Davis<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was the best, she was so nice,\u201d another Forest Hills neighbor said, adding that despite her long hours at work, she never missed a chance to offer a friendly greeting \u2014 even on bad days. <\/p>\n

\u201cShe was always working. I would see her walking out at 4 a.m. or coming back at 2 a.m. She was working towards her retirement. This is a shock,\u201d the stunned local continued, noting Davis lived alone with her beloved cat Roxie.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis last weekend she went to go visit her parents and now this happened. It\u2019s unbelievable.\u201d<\/p>\n

Davis had nine other acting credits listed on her IMDB, including small roles in the 2011 Michael Fassbender drama \u201cShame\u201d and the 2004 short film \u201cLadies Room.\u201d <\/p>\n

Neighbor Davin Hatsengate said he had no idea she moonlighted as an actress.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was super friendly,\u201d the 51-year-old said. <\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t know she was an actress. I guess she just wanted to be a regular neighbor. It\u2019s terrible.\u201d<\/p>\n

The JFK Customs Hockey Club also mourned Davis\u2019s tragic loss on Tuesday. <\/p>\n
