For locals, McGillin\u2019s has become just like the fictional \u201cCheers\u201d\u2014the place they go for its welcoming atmosphere, good food, and camaraderie. He ran the bar with Catherine \u201cMa\u201d McGillin, who is believed to be from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishcentral.com\/topic\/northern-ireland\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Northern Ireland<\/a>. The couple raised their 13 children upstairs.<\/p>\n<p>Other rooms above the bar housed Irish immigrants, who often tended bar. The book includes a foreword by The Honorable Edward G.
