During this one-on-one conversation, Jackman shared his experience with fame after his first appearance as Wolverine in <strong>X-Men<\/strong> (2000). Describing what that time was like, the actor called it \u201cexhilarating\u201d and \u201cfrightening.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hugh Jackman has this to say about his post-X-Men fame<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Hugh Jackman and Cynthia Erivo sat down together for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=bEZjOyQ2Pjw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Variety\u2019s Actors on Actors;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Variety\u2019s Actors on Actors<\/a> podcast, where they discussed their latest films and upcoming projects in depth, while also sharing significant anecdotes and moments from their acting journeys.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">As the conversation steered into the rituals they follow at the end of a performance or movie, Erivo first explained how she simply needs sleep and a therapy session, and sometimes releases her overwhelming feelings by crying. Jackman then mentions how he went through a bit of those feelings during his early acting days.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cWell, I was 29, and I got my first job at 26. So I did a degree. Then I did acting class for four years,\u201d he shared. \u201cAnd I was in Australia, but it was quite a lot. But X-Men was another whole thing. And that\u2019s when everything went\u2026,\u201d he added, with a whooshing sound to express how unnerving it was. \u201cMy friends said to me, \u2018What\u2019s it like?\u2019 I said, \u2018It\u2019s like you\u2019ve got the leash of a Great Dane and a horse, all in one, and it\u2019s dragging you down the street.\u2019 It\u2019s part exhilarating and part frightening,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">He continued to describe how nobody recognized him as Wolverine for around 18 months, which he called a \u201cgrace period\u201d where he was famous but no one stopped him. \u201cSo I had that.
