<\/p>\nIn a city of millions, one unlikely friendship has become a daily highlight for one dog and the friend he stops by to see every day.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Goose, a one-year-old rescue pup living in New York City, has developed a nightly ritual: he insists on stopping by a nearby apartment building to greet Isabel, a front-desk worker who has become his favorite person in the neighborhood.\u00a0<\/p>\n
A recent video posted by Goose\u2019s owner captured the pair\u2019s friendship as the dog hopped up on the lobby door, eagerly peering inside in hopes his friend is there.<\/p>\n
Goose was adopted just three months ago through Muddy Paws Rescue after he was transported from the Bowling Green\u2013Warren County Humane Society in Kentucky. Shelter workers knew almost nothing about his past except that he\u2019d been found as a stray. But in New York, Goose quickly found a community\u2014and a best friend.<\/p>\n
\u201cGoose is around a year old and a mutt\u2014part German shepherd, boxer, Great Pyrenees,\u201d his owner Courtney Tushaus told Newsweek. \u201cHe loves everybody, but he especially loves Isabel because of how happy she is to see him when he visits.\u201d<\/p>\n

Their friendship began about a month ago during a routine walk. Goose, who loves peering through storefronts and windows to greet strangers, wandered up to the glass doors of Isabel\u2019s building.\u00a0<\/p>\n
She stepped outside to meet him, and the two instantly bonded. Since then, Goose insists on walking past her building every night, hoping she\u2019s working.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe honestly is just such an angel and loves everybody\u2014he especially loves Isabel though because of how happy she is to see him when he visits her,\u201d Tushaus said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

While another dog owner shared their\u00a0pet\u2019s adorable routine<\/a>\u00a0when he sees the yellow school bus arrive every day.<\/p>\n A Christmas Gift Exchange<\/p>\n In their latest video together, Goose\u2019s owner shared how the pup and building worker recently even exchanged Christmas gifts.<\/p>\n When they arrived one evening, Isabel handed Goose a gift\u2014a toy that has quickly become a favorite. \u201cIt just goes to show what a kind hearted person she is to make a gesture like that,\u201d Tushaus said.\u00a0<\/p>\n Delighted by the festive gesture, Tushaus knew she wanted to give something back, and put together a gift for Isabel from the pup.<\/p>\n \u201cI knew I wanted to get her a present as well\u2014from Goose\u2014because I knew it\u2019d make her so happy,\u201d Tushaus said. \u201cSeeing her reaction was so heart warming and just reminds me of how important community is.\u201d<\/p>\n The unexpected pair have melted hearts online where videos of their relationship have gained thousands of views and prompted comments from animal lovers.<\/p>\n “This is seriously the sweetest. This is my first time seeing you guys and I just love this. She seems like such a lovely woman,” said one commenter on Instagram. Another wrote: “I\u2019m in tears this is so sweet.”<\/p>\n
