The family of actress Wenne Alton Davis, whose credits include a role in \u201cThe Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,\u201d issued a moving memorial just days after she was struck and killed by a car<\/a> in Midtown.<\/p>\n

\u201cWendy had a remarkable ability to make people feel seen and welcomed as she always met them in their space,\u201d Gary Hunter, her brother-in-law, said on Facebook Thursday<\/a>. \u201cShe was loved by such a huge and marvelous circle of friends. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe loved her, we were proud of her and we will miss her more than words can express,\u201d he wrote, calling the death of the 60-year-old actress an \u201cunimaginable loss.\u201d<\/p>\n

Davis, who lived in Forest Hills, was crossing Broadway near the West 53rd Street intersection around 9 p.m. Monday when she was struck by black 2023 Cadillac XT6, according to police.<\/p>\n

She was rushed to Mount Sinai West Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n

The 61-year-old driver of the Cadillac remained at the scene and has not been charged. <\/p>\n

Davis, who has had several supporting acting roles over the years, worked as a Customs and Border Patrol agent at JFK International Airport and was looking forward to retirement<\/a>, neighbors said.<\/p>\n

In addition to her 2023 appearance in an episode of \u201cThe Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,\u201d she also appeared in \u201cBlindspot,\u201d \u201cRescue Me,\u201d \u201cThe Normal Heart\u201d and \u201cNew Amsterdam,\u201d among other bit parts.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe had a huge love for New York, for acting, for her colleagues at J.F.K. and, most of all, her family and her circle of friends (which was also huge),\u201d her agent, Jamie Harris, told the New York Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Her brother-in-law said she embraced the Big Apple after moving to the five boroughs.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was born and raised in North Carolina, but she became a true New Yorker through and through \u2014 she loved her city more than any other place on earth and has lived there for almost her entire adult life,\u201d Hunter wrote on Facebook. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll always remember how accepting she was of me from the moment I joined her family. She always treated me like a brother,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n
