To recap, the company issued System Software 23.18 in mid September with ove a dozen bug fixes, new features and other improvements.

At the time, Garmin hoped that v23.18 would conclude its 23.xx beta period. However, it quickly returned to 23.xx beta builds first with Beta Version 23.22 and then multiple other updates. Then last week Garmin offered Beta Version 23.48, which did not appear to be a Release Candidate build.

Surprisingly, the company has now transitioned this update to its stable software channel with a dozen changes from Software Version 23.18. According to Garmin’s forum post, 50% of eligible smartwatches have already received a notification to download Software Version 23.48. A major caveat exists for the time being, though.

Namely, Garmin has ommitted the Fenix 7 Pro (curr. $539.99 on Amazon) and all associated spin-offs from receiving Software Version 23.48 without explanation. Curiously, the Epix 2 Pro and Tactix 7 Pro can already be updated to Software Version 23.48.
