Ethan Hawke candidly shared regret over his daughter Maya Hawke\u2019s \u201creally hard and complicated\u201d upbringing.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere were a lot of things about her childhood that were really, really hard and complicated, and things I regret for her,\u201d Ethan told Sydney Sweeney during their \u201cActors on Actors\u201d<\/a> conversation with Variety, which was released on Thursday.<\/p>\n While he neglected to share how her childhood was difficult, Ethan, 55, admitted that he knew Maya would grow up to \u201cbe an artist\u201d when she was just 4 years old.<\/p>\n Ethan Hawke candidly opened up about his regrets regarding his daughter Maya Hawke\u2019s \u201ccomplicated\u201d childhood. Bruce Glikas\/FilmMagic<\/p>\n \u201cI knew that she was gonna be a very good one,\u201d the \u201cBlack Phone\u201d star shared. \u201cThat was her safe place, watercoloring, dancing, singing all throughout her childhood.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAnything that had to do with human communication was something she vibrated to,\u201d he said, reflecting with pride on his daughter\u2019s wise beyond years knowledge. <\/p>\n \u201cI remember some teacher said, \u2018Maya, are you happy?\u2019 Cause they were worried about her. And she said something to the effect of, \u2018Do you really think that\u2019s the question?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Ethan also praised his daughter saying he knew she would \u201cbe an artist\u201d by the time she was 4.
