His heart was as big as there was. I\u2019m going to miss him. He was a great friend.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The devastated rep said Greene, who also appeared in the \u201cUsual Suspects,\u201d was about to begin production in January with Mickey Rourke on an independent thriller called \u201cMascots.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Edwards, who\u2019s based in California, notified the film\u2019s writer-director, Kerry Mondrag\u00f3n, of the actor\u2019s death and said he broke down in tears.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey were very upset,\u201d the manager added.<\/p>\n<p>Peter Greene portrays Zed in a scene from \u201cPulp Fiction.\u201d Miramax<\/p>\n<p>Greene was found unresponsive inside his Clinton Street apartment around 3:25 p.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene. GoogleMaps<\/p>\n<p>Edwards noted that while his client had a reputation of being difficult to work with, he was a perfectionist who gave every job his all and wanted his performance to be just \u201cright.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe worked with so many amazing actors and directors,\u201d Edwards said, adding that his performance as ruthless mobster Dorian Tyrell opposite Jim Carrey and Cameron Diaz in \u201cThe Mask\u201d was \u201carguably his best role.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe fought his demons but overcame them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Greene, who hailed from Montclair, New Jersey, ran away from home at 15 and lived on the streets of the Big Apple, where he turned to drug use and eventually dealing,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/people\/peter-greene\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">he told Premier magazine in 1996.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Peter Greene on the set of \u201cLowball\u201d at Arturo\u2019s Coal Oven Restaurant and Pizzeria in New York City on June 10, 1994.
