A man is dead following a shooting in West Fort Worth<\/a> early Friday morning, according to police. <\/p>\n

West Division officers responded to a call about a shooting at an apartment complex in the 6400 block of Wildwood Circle at about 4:40 a.m., a news release from the department said. <\/p>\n

When officers arrived at the scene, they learned that a man and a woman were providing a female acquaintance with a ride to the apartment complex, police said in the release. When the group arrived at the location, the acquaintance got out of the vehicle. <\/p>\n

Police said as the man prepared to drive off, he was \u201capproached by two unidentified suspects who attempted to enter his vehicle.\u201d One of the suspects pulled a gun and fired it, striking the man. <\/p>\n

The suspects then fled the scene, police said. The victim \u2014 who has not yet been identified \u2014 was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries. <\/p>\n

Additional information was not available. Police said homicide<\/a> detectives are actively investigating the incident.<\/p>\n

The suspects are believed to still be at large, but police said that this was \u201can isolated incident, and there is no known threat to the community.\u201d <\/p>\n
