The Dallas Cowboys<\/a> are making a donation to help victims of a deadly flood on the Guadalupe River in Central Texas.<\/p>\n

The team shared a statement on the ongoing recovery efforts Sunday morning, pledging a $500,000 donation. The Cowboys are one of multiple Texas teams to issue statements<\/a> on the devastating flood in the Hill Country.<\/p>\n

On Sunday afternoon, the NFL announced that the Cowboys will combine with the Houston Texans and the NFL Foundation to provide a $1.5 million donation.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cOur hearts are heavy as we witness the devastation and loss of life caused by the floods in Kerr County and Texas Hill Country, especially for the young girls and their families, as well as all of those lost and their loved ones,\u201d the Cowboys\u2019 statement read.<\/a> \u201cThis has been devastating to see and we hold everyone impacted in our thoughts and prayers. Standing side by side with The Salvation Army\u2019s critical response, we are also donating $500,000 to provide immediate resources for rescue, relief and long term recovery efforts.\u201d<\/p>\n

As of Sunday afternoon, at least 70 deaths<\/a> have been confirmed in the Hill Country. <\/p>\n

Officials said they expect more fatalities as search and rescue operations are still ongoing.<\/p>\n
