\u201cThe Marvelous Mrs. Maisel\u201d actress Wendy Davis, who went by the stage name Wenne Alton Davis, died at age 60 after being struck by a car in New York City.<\/p>\n

Davis was hit by a 2023 Cadillac XT6 while crossing the street at the intersection of West 53rd Street and Broadway on Monday, Dec. 8, per Fox News<\/a>. She suffered severe trauma to her head and body and was transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n

Fox News further reported that the driver of the vehicle was a 61-year-old man. He stayed at the scene after the collision and has faced no charges as of Thursday, Dec. 11. <\/p>\n

Davis played a cop in a season 5 episode of \u201cThe Marvelous Mrs. Maisel\u201d that aired in 2023. She acted in a scene with the show\u2019s star, Rachel Brosnahan (Miriam \u201cMidge\u201d Maisel). Davis made appearances in several other TV shows over the years, including \u201cGirls5Eva,\u201d \u201cNew Amsterdam,\u201d \u201cThe Normal Heart\u201d and \u201cRescue Me.\u201d <\/p>\n

In addition to her work as an actor, Davis had a security job at John F. Kennedy International Airport. She resided in Forest Hills, Queens.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can only describe Wenne Davis as a bright light,\u201d Davis\u2019 manager Jamie Harris said in a statement shared with The Daily News<\/a>. \u201cShe had a huge love for New York, for acting, for her colleagues at JFK and, most of all, her family and her circle of friends, which was also huge. She was someone for whom friendliness and kindness were not what she did but more who she was as a person. Literally, no one I\u2019ve spoken to can believe that she\u2019s no longer with us.\u201d<\/p>\n

Davis\u2019 death was unexpected, but her friend and next-door neighbor, 61-year-old Edward Reynoso, feels like he got some kind of closure with her. Hours before her death, Davis told Reynoso, \u201cI love you, I appreciate you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was so weird to me, because I felt like she was saying goodbye,\u201d Reynoso told The Daily News on Wednesday, Dec. 10. \u201cNow that this happened, it all seems so odd to me. \u2026 I\u2019m numb to tell you the truth.
