Snow was largely expected between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., with most of the accumulation occurring between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Snowfall totals ranging between one and four inches were likely in the southern part of the Chicago area, meteorologists said, and the heaviest snowfall was expected south of a line extending from LaSalle to Rensselaer, Indiana.<\/p>\n<p>The wintry weather appeared to have a widespread impact late Saturday morning; traffic cameras in LaSalle, Ford, and Iroquois counties all showed snow-covered roads. <\/p>\n<p>As the snow keeps on falling, anyone leaving home will want to prepare for extra time on the road.<\/p>\n<p>Difficult driving conditions are likely due to the combination of the snow and frigid cold.<\/p>\n<p>With temperatures in the single digits, even a few tenths of an inch of snow can lead to slippery roads, the NWS stated.
