If you\u2019ve ever wished your Christmas tree would hug you back,\u00a0Dumbo House<\/a>\u00a0has you covered this winter.<\/p>\n

Set on the Brooklyn waterfront and known for its baked-in skyline views, the members\u2019 club has unveiled\u00a0“Tree Huggers<\/a>,” a playful, immersive holiday installation<\/a>\u00a0by Brooklyn-based artist Derrick Adams. Part sculpture garden, part festive fever dream, the work has turned the Dumbo House terrace into a walkable maze of stylized\u00a0Christmas trees<\/a>, each one outfitted with long, cartoonish arms that reach out as if mid-embrace. It\u2019s whimsical, slightly surreal and very much the kind of holiday cheer that feels distinctly New York.<\/p>\n

“Tree Huggers”\u00a0anchors Soho Winterland, the club\u2019s seasonal takeover running through January 1, 2026. While the installation is the visual centerpiece, it\u2019s surrounded by the comforting trappings of a\u00a0European-style winter market<\/a>. Terrace chalets are serving classic Christmas market snacks like soft pretzels and sausage rolls, alongside festive drinks from Johnnie Walker, Mr. Black and Seedlip. Expect warming pours\u2014mulled wine, spiced cider, hot chocolate and hot toddies\u2014plus Soho House favorites like fried chicken, Soho Smash burgers and cheesecake by Monteleone.<\/p>\n

Throughout December, Soho Winterland has been hosting a rotating lineup of holiday programming, including vinyl happy hours soundtracked entirely by analogue records, carolers performing among Adams\u2019 tree sculptures and select Santa portrait sessions staged directly inside the installation. Market days spotlight seasonal brands and local craftspeople, while cozy extras like s\u2019mores and board games make it easy to linger longer than planned.<\/p>\n

If your holiday tastes skew more sparkly than silent night, there\u2019s room for that too. Soho Winterland\u2019s programming includes festive drink masterclasses and hands-on workshops like candle making, cookie decorating, gingerbread building and wreath crafting, with events rotating throughout the season.<\/p>\n
