Over the past three decades, it has accumulated millions of gallons of latex paint — keeping it out of landfills and repurposing it for sale out of its MetroPaint Outlet at 825 N. Today, PaintCare operates hundreds of paint drop-off sites across 11 states, according to its website.

But now that MetroPaint is closing, where can Oregonians recycle their half-full buckets?

PaintCare will continue to facilitate paint recycling across Oregon, operating 194 year-round drop-off sites throughout the state.

These include both of Metro’s Portland-area hazardous waste facilities:

Metro Central, 6161 N.W. 61st Ave., Portland

Metro South, 2001 Washington St., Oregon City

Drop-off locations also include various locations of Sherwin-Williams, Ace Hardware, Miller Paint and Habitat for Humanity ReStores, among other businesses.

A full map of PaintCare drop-off sites in Oregon can be found online.

After more than 30 years, MetroPaint — a pioneer of paint recycling programs across the country — plans…

[23
746,3095,7007,205078,50,212,23077,205079,159,1763,205080,67,132,68
0":"post-445254","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-environment","8":"tag-environment","9":"tag-features","10":"tag-green","11":"tag-metropaint","12":"tag-news","13":"tag-oregon","14":"tag-portland","15":"tag-rodney-haney","16":"tag-science","17":"tag-sustainability","18":"tag-swan-island","19":"tag-united-states","20":"tag-unitedstates","21":"tag-us
["GET
