Credit: Courtesy Photo \/ Famous Toastery<\/p>\n<p>North Carolina-based Famous Toastery has\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tdlr.texas.gov\/TABS\/Search\/Project\/TABS2026007798\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">secured a location<\/a>\u00a0for its first San Antonio restaurant, state records show. <\/p>\n<p>The chain \u2014\u00a0known for comforting breakfast and lunch fare along with its mimosa flights \u2014\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sacurrent.com\/food-drink\/brunch-chain-famous-toastery-to-open-first-san-antonio-location-36059889\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">announced its expansion<\/a>\u00a0into both the Alamo City in November 2024, saying the unit would be its first west of the Mississippi River. However, at the time, officials said they hadn\u2019t yet decided on its precise location in the SA metro.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, owners of the local Famous Toastery franchise filed project details with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, confirming that Northwest San Antonio will be the site of the chain\u2019s Lone Star State debut. The 3,452-square-foot restaurant will be at 15031 Babcock Road, near the College Park H-E-B.<\/p>\n<p>Famous Toastery has built a following by serving up\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/famoustoastery.com\/about\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">new takes on classic comfort dishes<\/a>. It offers a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/famoustoastery.com\/menus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">variety of breakfast, lunch and drink options<\/a>, including omelets, club sandwiches, bloody marys and more.<\/p>\n<p>With an estimated cost of $500,000, franchise owner Rachell Bonds filed to finish out \u2014 or customize \u2014 the building for the new location through renovations and alterations, according to the TDLR document, filed Dec. 11. Construction began last week and is scheduled to complete around May 8.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bonds, a 27-year army veteran, will own the unit, the\u00a0Current\u00a0previously reported. <\/p>\n<p>In 2023, Famous Toastery began\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.famoustoasteryfranchise.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">offering franchise deals<\/a>\u00a0to expand outside its Charlotte home base. As of December 2025, the company had\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/famoustoastery.com\/locations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">22 locations along the East Coast<\/a>\u00a0in Virginia and
