They will eat pretty\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.britannica.com\/animal\/hammerhead-shark\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">much anything that is smaller than them<\/a>, and to kill their prey, they ram their head into their body like a hammer (hence the name). Few ocean predators are as feared as this combination of aggression and speed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">Bat rays are no joke either. While the hammerhead can hit\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.crittersquad.com\/fact-sheets\/hammerhead-shark-fact-sheet\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">25 mph<\/a>, bat rays can hit 13 mph but are incredibly agile. And those tails? You wouldn\u2019t want to be anywhere near one if they get mad. The winner might surprise you.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">Man, a bat ray\u2019s escape moves-bag goes way deeper than I realized! Jumping\u00a0over\u00a0the hammerhead as it&#8217;s about to clamp the jaws of death is insane stuff.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">Of course, hammerheads probably get the better of bat rays every now and again; it&#8217;s too good of a predator to get skunked all the time.
