LOS ANGELES (KABC) — A video that’s gotten thousands of views on social media shows the moment a woman discovered a stranger in the back of a Waymo car.<\/p>\n
The incident happened on Monday at MacArthur Park in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n
A woman said she ordered the driverless ride for her daughter and when it arrived, they noticed a man in the trunk.<\/p>\n
“Why the [expletive] are you in the trunk?” the woman is heard asking the stranger.<\/p>\n
” … I’m trying to figure this out,” the man responds. “This [expletive] won’t let me out.”<\/p>\n
Apparently, the man had entered the Waymo after a previous rider left the trunk open at a drop off.<\/p>\n
Eyewitness News reached out to Waymo and a spokesperson issued the following statement:<\/p>\n
“We’re committed to keeping our riders safe and earning the trust of the communities where we operate. This experience was unacceptable, and we are actively implementing changes to address this.”<\/p>\n
Waymo said their rider support team assisted the rider during the incident, who told them they were OK.<\/p>\n
