He has made only two other appearances since Nov. 12 and has yet to play in any back-to-backs this season. During the 2024-25 season, Porziņģis appeared in a career-low 42 games for the then-defending champion Boston Celtics.

An @emoryhealthcare injury update:

Kristaps Porzingis has missed multiple games while dealing with a recent illness.

To ensure he continues to make progress toward a full recovery, he will continue this period of limited basketball activities and evaluation for two weeks, after… pic.twitter.com/9Jeekj7gh2

— Atlanta Hawks (@ATLHawks) December 14, 2025

This past offseason, Boston traded the former All-Star to Atlanta in a three-team deal in exchange for Georges Niang and a 2031 second-round pick. To acquire Porziņģis, the Hawks traded Terance Mann and Drake Powell to the Brooklyn Nets.

Whether the 30-year-old Porziņģis misses only two weeks remains to be seen, but he has been a productive contributor for the Hawks in his relatively limited playing time. Atlanta entered Sunday’s games with a plus-3.4 net rating in his 337 minutes on the court, according to NBA.com, but that mark falls to minus-0.6 in his 921 minutes on the bench. A key reason for that has been his ability to thrive alongside the Hawks’ younger, more promising pieces.

Because four-time All-Star Trae Young has played in only five games this season, Atlanta’s second-most-used lineup involves Porziņģis playing alongside veterans Jalen Johnson, Dyson Daniels, Nickeil Alexander-Walker and second-year forward Zaccharie Risacher, who was drafted No. 1 in 2024. That unit is outscoring opponents by 7.3 points per 100 possessions over 127 minutes entering Sunday.

Porziņģis has not played since Dec. 5, when he scored 25 points in a 134-133 home loss to the Denver Nuggets.

Atlanta Hawks forward Kristaps Porziņģis will be out of the lineup for at least two weeks due to…

[40
3119,7564,1260,62,67,132,68
0":"post-447445","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-nba","8":"tag-atlanta-hawks","9":"tag-fantasy-basketball","10":"tag-nba","11":"tag-sports","12":"tag-united-states","13":"tag-unitedstates","14":"tag-us
["GET
